Soggy Boletus

Hi I am new to this forum stumbled upon it by accident but glad I found it, well certainly the Fungi sector. We picked our first lot of Boletus Sunday not exactly sure of the type, certainy penny bun top, but stalk did not buldge out? Trouble is they were all very soggy just like sponges I have tried to dry them but to no avail. So its back out there to find some more decent ones, seems that this family of fungi is prone to water logging?

It was probably a brown birch bolete (Leccinum scabrum). They're just soggy by nature, I'm afraid.

Many thanks for the feedback I will look it up, I intend to join a group with an expert on my next forays, so that will help to!
