Well i guess that it could be something else altogether, but i kinda feel that its right for a wax cap.
Found on my village green 8' from a 50 year old
Fagus sylvatica purpurea, soil type mostly chalk interspersed with the odd clay deposit.
Cap- appears conical to umbonate as it matures. Colour- ocre centre lightening towards the edge. Margin- appears undulated and furrowed
Gills- free and lightly packed. Colour consistent with cap
Stem- sinuate and smooth. Colour- lighter at the top and darker at the base.
I'm thinking around
H. nitrata but Phillips states it as rare, i guess cutting the stem, taste smell and a spore print would help
The colour is a bit washed out in the uploaded images.


Any thoughts welcomed
