| | | Various fungi for ID
Looks like a clouded funnel, listed by Phillips as very rare in Britain?
Clitocybe ?
Both of the above look like laccaria, but they're deceiving me if they are, because I can't figure out which they are. I thought they were the same species when I picked them up, but they clearly aren't because one has a white stem and the other doesn't. |

If you mean Clitocybe nebularis, I'm not sure we are reading the same Phillips, as this is one of the most common of species around.
David
P.S. And 'The Deceiver' is one of the most apt of all common names.

| | | Re: Various fungi for ID I'm confused (not difficult) - my Phillips (pub 1981, 1994 edition) has this as common too............
Cheers

I stand corrected - and, (on this occasion ), offer profuse apologies to Mr. Phillips. I had misread his text, which actually refers to C.nebularis v. alba, as the one being very rare in Britain.

| I can't find any pictures of the Deceiver with white stems. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Both of them? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
