| | | Orange Hygrocybe ID? Hi
I found a lot of these growing in the grass in a sheep field today.
Cap and stem are both very slimy (making them quite hard to pick-up).
Cap approx. 15mm across. Flesh - yellow to white (especially under the umbo) No distinctive smell other than faintly "mushroomy".
Gill attachment - free
Stipe 60 x 5mm hollow but containing white cottony "pith".
Any thoughts appreciated

| | | Re: Orange Hygrocybe ID? Thanks Ken,
I didn't notice any green, even on the youngest specimens, which made me unsure about H. psitticina, although otherwise it fits.
I'm planning on going back there tomorrow as there was a yellow Lactarius with very hot tasting milk growing in the same area that I want to take a closer look at.
I'll have another go at this waxcap at the same time.
