That's the spirit.

| | | Re: Magic Mushrooms And they were probably growing next to Panaeolus and Stropharia, so you could have given the police a varied collection, given them extra paperwork to do, kept them occupied all day . And if you/they were lucky maybe a few Hygrocybe psittacina too. Also Conocybe which are also abundant right now. As some of those are killers, they should be locked up too. |

Seems to be a bumper year in some parts | I started coming across these last Monday (Sussex).
I doubt many people can compete with this... Can anyone help identify please ?
...though. One has to wonder how many people on said "estate" know what they are!

Seems to be a bumper year in some parts | Seen quite a few (70+) of these recently in a very dry New Forest.... i expect after some appreciative rainfall (like yesterday) the grasslands of the New Forest will be carpeted in these and others.
Its totaly normal for them at this time of year to spring up.... my advice is to leave them be and don't tell anybody were you found them because they will, depending who they are, either pick or destroy them
Mycelium networks of these can be many 100's of years old - and be killed of in a season or too They are like other fungi an important part of the Eco-System. Bugs for instance lay eggs in them... such as flies for example and the maggots eat the fungi. |

| | | Re: Magic Mushrooms I have Psilocybe semilanceata on my back lawn. The new Collins guide says it is illegal to possess them. As I have paid off the mortgage I am not sure where that leaves me legally. Perhaps I should look up the visiting times at Walton Prison...I don't want to get too lonely. |

| | | Re: Magic Mushrooms I don't think you'll get locked up Treecreeper s'long as you leave 'em in the lawn - after all "possess" means to have something in your possession, and you don't exactly "possess" the birds and the insects which visit your garden, do you....?
Er.... unless, of course you're making those Blackbirds into a pie!

Neil. | Don't be so naive.
People who pick them for illegal purposes often pluck them and in the process take some of the mycelium with them.
...... the second most likely reason for people removing them is because they don't want people comming onto their land just to pick them... pickers might be tresspassing and or disturbing animals. So basically if the land owner removes them then there is no reason for the pickers to be there.
Though i do agree with your term Insignificant when describing these mushrooms others may not... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
