| | | Please identify these fungi Hi
Can someone please tell me what these fungi are? They are growing in an area that was a field but has been regularly mown over the summer and used as a garden. My 16 month old picked a piece and put it in her mouth but soon spat it out! She has not digested any but am keen to find out what they are for future reference. Many thanks for reading. |

| | | Re: Please identify these fungi These are Snowy Waxcaps, Hygrocybe virginea. In this case they are actually edible, although you do need to be careful not to confuse them with other potentially toxic species. |

Toddlers and mushrooms don't sound like a good mixture. |

| | | Re: Please identify these fungi I was aware of the poisonous berry issue as we have so many hedges and weird things growing around the farm which my 2 year old showed interest in, which is why we fenced a hedge free area of the field! Now the baby is a mushroom hunter! |

| | | Re: Please identify these fungi Thank you. There are a few other sorts now that I have had a close look in the grass, so will photograph them and get them identified before I use the garden again. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
