| | | Id Help Please! Hi there,
Could anyone help me identify these? Apologies if they're stupidly easy - I'm still very new to this! I *think* I have a shaggy parasol (Macrolepiota rhacodes) and chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius).
They were found more or less next together under a fallen tree in mostly deciduous woodland in East Yorkshire.
Is my identification right? And if not, what are they? And the inevitable question - are they edible? Any info much appreciated.
Thanks!

I'll leave it to someone else to comment on edibility, if anyone wants to, but I will say that if you are at the stage where a tawny funnel looks like a chanterelle you aren't at the stage when it would be safe for you to eat anything fungal, without a firm identification by someone experienced who has held the relevant mushroom in their own hand. |

I'm not eating anything until I'm good enough to be 100% certain - or at least 99.9%!
Cheers for the info though.

Rob | I'd go for 100% certain. You don't want the 1 in a thousand that you got wrong to be a death cap. |
