| | | Confirmation & ID Help Please. From Today: -
No. 1 - Pretty sure this is Clouded Funnel - Clitocybe nebularis.
Not much of an idea on these: -
No.2 - Growing directly in soil.
Caps about 40mm across, stipes about 60mm tall.
Possibly another Clitocybe sp.?
No.3 - Again growing directly in soil
Has vague Pholiota & Armillaria features (but certainly unlike any of the very abundant Honey Fungus which is all over this woodland at the moment, and not growing on/near any buried wood etc.).
Caps about 50mm, stipes about 60mm.
No.4 - Again growing directly in soil.
Lactarius - but which?
Cap about 12cm across, stipe about 10cm tall.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike.

| | | Re: Confirmation & ID Help Please. I agree with you for No 1.
No 2. I always struggle with these grey/brown Clitocybe's.
No 3. Yet another variation on a theme of Honey fungus.
No 4. Coward - you didn't taste it did you ! Lactarius turpis.

| | | Re: Confirmation & ID Help Please. Honey fungus is all over my lawn Mike, at least 30ft from the nearest tree, no buried stuff either - it travels well! Seems a law unto itself at the moment!
Cheers
Ken

I must admit, when I was photographing No.3, Honey fungus didn't enter my mind, as it was completely unlike any other Honey fungus I've seen in this wood. (Or elsewhere for that matter!).
It was only when I got it blown up on the computer screen that I saw certain Honey fungus like characteristics. - And even then, still didn't think that it actually was a Honey fungus.
These two pics are typical of the usual & bulbous types present in this particular woodland.
Certainly a lot different from the ones in No.3, which, although growing in a small troupe, were all individual, (not caespitose), and very lightly attached to the soil. - In fact, almost just sitting on top of the soil. ).: -
Regards,
Mike.
