| | | Troublesome coprinoid. Small Coprinus or similar found on a very wet, grassy bank. The caps were approximately 10 - 15mm across. The only one I can find with such marked rolling of the cap margin is C. lagopides but that is described as having a white stipe and being found on burnt ground/fire sites, neither of which match with mine. They weren't on dung as far as I could tell.

Steve | hi Steve
I'm afraid that characters like the rolling of the rim shown are next to useless;
with all but a few Coprinus species you need microscopical examination of (especially) veil and spore characters
when I saw the title " Troublesome coprinoid" I was ready to recommend something like Anusol . . .
cheers
Chris

Chris | Oh well, thanks for looking Chris.

No comment re. Anusol, although one might say that some of these fungi can be a right pain in the ....... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
