| | | What kind of bolete am I? Morning all
I found this large bolete - at least I think its a bolete in a graveyard. The graveyard contains birch and scots pines with mixed decisuous woodland round the border. Can anyone help identify it? Birch Bolete or Cep maybe??
Thanks |

But I am in no way an expert. |

But I am in no way an expert. | it would be good to be able to see the stem a bit more clearly, but I think badius is better than a guess

| | | Re: What kind of bolete am I? Thats great. Thanks for the quick response! I have looked up badius in my book of mushrooms. I should have added in my description that there was no blueish discolouration when I touched the spores as I have seen in other bay boletes and when I cut it the flesh ( which was all white ) blushed a rosy colour at the top of the cap.
The stalk is smooth at the bottom and has what feels like ridges running lengthways at the top by the cap.
I should also add that I am a complete novice so appreciate your responses. |

I think with no blue showing on the pores or in the flesh B. edulis is more likely.
