Help with possible Dichomitus campestris

I’m thinking of Dichomitus campestris but having never seen it before I would appreciate views or comments

I would say you could be right John, even though there is not the usual black surround.

Wonder if Chris is going to tell us what that speckled fungus is on the Sweet Chestnut ? leaf below.

The one on the left does show the beginings of a black line where it joins the wood and it looks very much like the ones I found.

Looking at my original HQ image I can clearly see the black line.
