| | | 2 more for id/confirmation hello! found these in a graveyard in town. the first one i have no idea about, it was surrounding about half of a tree stump and went right down to the ground, so i couldn't get to the underside. basically just all white. the pore surface looked quite interesting. can't find anything about it in me books
this one is what i think to be shaggy scalycap Pholiota flammans. The photos are pretty dodgy, but am i right? There were quite a few clumps growing around one oak i seem to recall. |

| | | Re: 2 more for id/confirmation Hello there,
Your first is probably going to be a new one on me, even if someone has the answer, please go back once or twice a week to take more photos and send them in so that we can see how this develops.
I would agree with you for the second - Pholiota squarrosa (that is what you meant isn't it, as the common name is Shaggy Scalecap as you wrote.)

| | | Re: 2 more for id/confirmation it is indeed what i meant! no idea why i wrote flammans, must have been on my mind...

| | | Re: 2 more for id/confirmation went down for another look at this today, didnt have my camera with me unfortunately. it hasn't changed much really, except for parts have gone red/black and parts at the bottom have hardened. I managed to get a bit of a view of its pores and, white underside, but nothing particularly out of the ordinary | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
