| | | From the woodpile, again Totally unscientific, but thoughts of cherry drops and fluffy bootees come to mind with these two!
Both from rotting deciduous branches in the woodpile, and both small. Help appreciated.......

Thanks in advance,

I can't help with the first but I think your second is Delicatula integrella. It has the tell tale "dot" in the centre.

the first looks very like the ascomycete Hypocrea rufa - rather rarely seen; although its 'imperfect' Trichoderma blue-green mould stage is very common . . .
bset wishes
Chris

| Bother! There was some bluish-grey mould on a bit of wood I brought in for the range ..... now its cinders and I never took a photo ........ Bringing wood in to burn is getting increasingly difficult - it comes in, I spot an interesting bit of lichen or fungi, it goes back out so I can get get a photo .... |

| | | Re: From the woodpile, again Hi Jenny,
I'm sure someone put up a picture of your No1 last year for an ID, but my memory is very poor, all I can say is it looks like a cross between the basidiomycete - Dacrymyces stillatus, and the ascomycete - Hypocrea rufa.
Not much help, I know.
Neil.
EDIT: Silly me, I didn't realise there have been 2 more posts. I was unsure with H.rufa as your photo seemed too bright red.
