| | | From Today, Plus a couple for ID help Please. All found today: -
Fairly happy with ID's for these: - - - - - Cortinarius bolaris .. Helvella lacunosa .. Coprinus comatus Trametes versicolor ..... Kuehneromyces mutabilis . Boletus luridiformis - Coprinopsis atramentaria .. Cordyceps militaris (Courtesy of PMG. ).
Would be grateful for any ID help on these: -
No.1 - I was certain this was Coprinopsis lagopus when I took the photo (scurfy stipe etc.) but now I'm not so sure.
No.2 - Possibly a Cortinarius ?
Growing amongst moss & Fagus leaf litter. always very close to fallen logs, stumps etc. (might have actually been associated with the fallen wood).
Cap widths about 40-60mm, stipe heights about 70-80mm.
No.3 - No idea at all on this one.
Growing alongside No.2, (this was originally on a moss covered rotting stump).
Cap width about 70mm, stipe length about same.
Any help with ID's much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike. |

1 C. lagopus quite possible, but I always check them microscopically
2 looks like a Gymnopilus in the penetrans / sapineus area
3 I think is definitely a Cortinarius . . . . section Seriocybe perhaps?
cheers
Chris

| | | Re: From Today, Plus a couple for ID help Please. Thanks Chris - I'll have a browse through the books for those, and see if anything looks like good contenders.
Regards,
Mike. EDIT - I've still got the dried Scutellinia, but it has shrivelled up to a mere spec of its former self. (I hope it does turn out to be something that's been worth looking at, at the end of the day ).

| | | Re: From Today, Plus a couple for ID help Please. That might be a good call Pauline. C.anomalous is referred to as having finely scurfy brownish ochre cap, often with grey or lilac tints, which this definitely had.
