| | | Fungi i.d. I saw this in our garden underneath a beech hedge and wondered what it was. Nothing like our usual fungi. The slug gives an idea of size (quite large). Thanks! |

| | | Re: Fungi i.d. Hard to tell. The lower part of the stem abuts the truck of the beech and disappears underground. There's no gap worth mentioning between the stem and the trunk, so yes on balance it is almost certainly attached.
