ID help
Cap ~2-4cm diameter. Height ~4cm. (both photos are the same specimen). Found on a bare patch of damp mud and leaves.



Any suggestions very welcome

Bet there's some buried wood attached to that stem Squishy. Looks like a very mature pink gilled Pluteus cervinus to me.

Hi,

can't do it better to find a name for this rather dry guy.
But P.cervinus should have white to pinkish gills and not these Cortinarius-like ones.

The cap texture is also not right for Pluteus cervinus. I'd be thinking along the lines of Cortinarius as well.
