| | | Posting to gallery with no common name I'd like to post some new pictures of amanita submembranacea to the Gallery. Problem is this fungus does not have an English common name, as required for all Gallery pics. How do I deal with this??

Whenever I have done that I have just put the Latin name in both boxes. Not sure if that is what is expected but it works

| | | Re: Posting to gallery with no common name If you check the Gallery you will see that if no Common Name exists then it is perfectly in order to leave it blank. So it cannot be a rigid stipulation for all images.

| | | Re: Posting to gallery with no common name What's the process for getting confirmations so images can be posted into the Gallery. I've just retrieved some old images from my dead p.c's and although not shot from a professional camera some images/fungi may be suitable for the Gallery if they are correct. One worry is that when i upload the images the picture has a tendency to look over exposed I'm adjusting many of the images prior to uploading but could with some advice. I"ll put an image below to see if happens with the old ones. Hypholoma sublateritium? oh thats "Brick caps" common english
Ok i think that answers it they are too grainy, so are images of this quality too poor for the image Gallery? (sorry to get off your thread a bit jim but i thought it better than putting up a new one)

| | | Re: Posting to gallery with no common name Providing your images meet the basic criteria concerning titles, graphics, watermarks, size etc., outlined on the Gallery upload page, you are at liberty to submit any image you consider appropriate for particular sections of the Gallery. The Gallery Editors have the final say whether or not the image is accepted. Unfortunately you will be none the wiser as to the specific reason if your photo is rejected; other than you have contravened one of the many rules from the Gallery Guidelines: http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/faq
So it is not easy to answer your question other than saying 'suck it and see'.
There are many threads on this subject and probably the most enlightening is the following: http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...otos-info.html
