All found today: -
No.1 - Possibly Aniseed Cockleshell -
Lentinellus cochleatus?
Growing on a moss covered rotting Beech stump.
Largest fruitbody about 75mm tall. Very decurrent saw-like gills, faint but distinct smell of aniseed.
No.2 - Can't seem to get anywhere with this: -
Growing in sheep grazed open moorland pasture.
Largest fruitbody about 100mm tall, cap diameter about 40mm.
No.3 - Maybe Hygrocybe reidii? (Have previously had them identified from this site, but were more mature flatter capped specimens).
Growing in same pasture as No.2.
Largest cap about 30mm diameter, stipe height about 70mm.
Both cap and stipe dry.
Discounted Hygrocybe miniata as cap not scurfy.
Discounted Hygrocybe pratensis as gills not decurrent.
No.4 - Unidentified Russula, found in wholly Beech woodland.
Cap diameter 70mm, stipe height similar. No distinct smell.
Cap colour a much more muted ochre yellow, when compared with yesterdays find. (Posted for ID earlier today).
Pilius peeled only about 1/4 distance to centre. No discolouration of gill or stipe flesh on damage.
Any ID's/Confirmations/other, much appreciated.
