| | | Some brackets needing ID help I thought I'd better ask for help for these from earlier in the year before photographing too many new ones!
The three bracket fungi below were photographed in January in mixed woodland. Tree species included Holly, Oak, Birch and Hazel but I've no record of what the fungi were on.
Q1
Q2
Q3
Q4. Photographed in January on a cowpat
Q5. Photographed in February. It was in a very shady rock overhang in mixed deciduous and coniferous woodland - weird looking beastie!
Q6. Photographed by a friend in July.
Thank you in advance for IDs for these, it'll probably be a few more days before my book arrives and I can begin making uneducated ID attempts!

| | | Re: Some brackets needing ID help Hi Jenny
2 is stereum hirsutum
4/ orangey disc lookslike cheilymenia stercorea, 5/ funny brain similar to gyromitra esculenta, last one is a coprinus spp, maybe lagopus, (see my thread on similar today!)
No doubt proper ID's will arive!
Cheers
Ken

| | | Re: Some brackets needing ID help 3/ might be postia caesia (or whatever its called these days) - it blues like that when mature.
1 could well be the trametes squishy suggets.
Cheers

| | | Re: Some brackets needing ID help 1 & 2 are probably both Trametes versicolor
3 Stereum sp. (Stereum have no pores on the hymenial surface)
4 Coprobia granulata
5 No Idea (Probably mis-formed growth of something)
6 Parasola sp. (Previously included under Copinus) P.plicatus is common

| | | Re: Some brackets needing ID help Hi,
my guess for Q6 would be Coprinus lagopus: Hasenpfote (Coprinus lagopus)
