| | | Re: New to Fungi - ID help requested. Hiya.
Your mushrooms appear to be Common Ink Caps ( coprinus atramentarius ) Good to eat but alcohol must NEVER be consumed with the meal.
Hope that helps.

| | | Re: New to Fungi - ID help requested. Thanks Nick you could be right there. Just have to wait until they open out a bit so I can compare them with google images more easily. Some listed under that name look a bit different, some very similar. Fingers crossed nobody kicks them over during the night. |

| | | Re: New to Fungi - ID help requested. I think they're ink caps but I would never consume any fungi without expert id. I saw today what looked to be perfect field mushrooms but they're also alike some very poisonous ones. Knowing my luck I'd end up in A&E!!

| | | Re: New to Fungi - ID help requested. 100% true. About a year ago i ingested some amatoxins from a deathcap. Probably from my fingers. extremely luckily, i was ok apart from vicious stomach cramps and gastric pains. Why can't my dad be an expert!!!!!! i don't know any!!

| | | Re: New to Fungi - ID help requested. I'm too much of a fungi novice to risk eating any that I find. At the moment I'm just fasinated by their appearance. If I spent some time with an expert it might be different, pity I don't know one locally either.
Researching a bit more following your Nicks suggestion they look like they could be Coprinus micaceus but they're not that glisteny. What do you think? |

| | | Re: New to Fungi - ID help requested. The only mushrooms i ever eat are parasols and The Prince. These are the only two i am able to identify 110% for eating. But i never eat mushrooms that i am 99% sure are edible.
