Girvan Valley Ayrshire Scotland

Hi All
I'm off to Girvan Valley Ayrshire Scotland w/c 5th Sept. Has anyone any experience or knowledge of the area? Taking camera (and basket!) of course to record any finds.

Hope you enjoy your holiday, you could spot Otters on the rocky sea front or you could get a boat trip to Ailsa Craig from Girvan and photograph the thousands of seabirds, including a massive Gannet colony, the largest in the U.K.

Don't let anyone here on WAB see your basket with an otter or a ganet in it though

thanks for your thoughts Mal. Although I have a good collection of recipe books I don't think any include otter or gannet! (unless I happen across anything local to the area when there)
I hope, if finance allows, to maybe get a trout or salmon from the prime local river, which could of course be complemented by some wild fungi from the local woods, should I find any. Lots of "if"s and etc....
