| | | Fungi on fungi ID Hi, don't know what's possible here but would be grateful if someone could tell me about the fungi growths ... and/or ID the the mushrooms invlolved. I think the second is some kind of lava? (Probably should post on the insect forum for that one).
Am I correct with the red cracking bolete ID please?
I have every confidence in you guys !!
cheers

| | | Re: Fungi on fungi ID Hi cicada,
I think your tiny parasitic fungus might be something like Spinellus fusiger. I'm not sure of exactly what it is on, but looks like one of the Mycena's.
Not at all sure of the second two pics. (I think your larva might just possibly be a bit of wet leaf debris ).
Could well be a Red Cracking Bolete for the third, but there are a couple of very similar looking boletes. (Maybe someone better versed than myself will confirm).
Regards,
Mike.

| | | Re: Fungi on fungi ID can add little to Mike's spot-on comments S. fusiger seems to very much prefer Mycena species
cheers

Mike. | Oh oh, how embarassing ! I can see it on the darker pic but the other had me fooled.

The first looks like one of the Calodontes Section of Mycena. M. pura or possibly even M. pearsoniana with a severe attack of Spinellus fusiger. The final picture of a Bolete is I think Xerocomus chrysenteron but the previous one could be an old X rubellus.
