| | | A short tale, a couple of photos and a question .. I asked the question in an earlier thread What’s so fascinating about fungi?
In response FungiJohn suggested I try a walk along Lime Tree Ave in Clumber Park which I managed today. While there were a lot of fungi about they were mostly decaying, eaten or broken up. These are a couple of shots taken during the walk ..
As fungi numpty I have no idea on ID other than the second is some kind of puffball.
The earth was very dry so that must have had an impact - what is the best time to seek out fungi?
I see I am going to have to get some serious research in.

JohnB | best time depends on what sort of fungi you get interested in - it can become a 365(6) days a year study once you move away from the "toadstool" type species
as regards getting some serious research in - well, all you need is several lifetimes!
best
Chris
