Orbilia species?

hi

this honey / golden-coloured discomycete was found over quite a length of a fallen Quercus branch by a stream in upland Quercus/Betula woodland

interestingly, although it's not very clear from these images, the fungus appeared to be associated with old fruit-bodies of the "pyrenomycete" Diatrypella quercina:


the fruit-bodies (1-2mm diameter) had noticeable areas of white anchoring hyphae around them:


under the microscope, the asci were held together by the paraphyses tips, forming "palisades", but did not have the swollen apices of many Orbilia species:


ascospores were rod-like, straight to slightly curved, and mostly 6-7 x 1 microns

I'm thinking Orbilia auricolor or possibly O. cyathea, but have limited experience of these and would welcome comments
