| | What is this squidgy thing Is it a fungus or something else? - not seen anything quite like it before.      
Found in Blackpool. Lancs this morning. It was creamy white with yellow patches then, but 6 hours later had become this dark brown colour. It was soft and squidgy didn't touch it second visit looks about the same though. Growing on an old pine - not sure which species - stump in damp heavy ground with a northerly aspect in moderatety open country, a park.

Not one that I've personally seen, but it looks interesting.

Yes this can happen very quickly and the whole thing will disappear completely in a short period too!
