Hi ALL.
A simple question: have any of you ever seen a squirrel eating/nibbling on mushrooms? (I know that sounds like the start of a bad joke...) Do some animals take a bite out of mushrooms? I often see mushrooms that look like they've been a partial snack for a rodent etc.
I was in the woods today and saw a Red Squirrel. Through my binoculars I saw him nibbling on some mushrooms growing on a tall branch. I have seen these fungi before but only on branches quite high up. They are very white and I think they grow on Beech (could be wrong about this, though). They look a bit like the Porcelain Fungus (I think) and have a fan-like structure growing out of them also.
If someone can make sense of all this I'd be very grateful.

I have seen them nibble Fungi and today I saw a grey chase and kill a small bird that was obviously injured and unable to fly!

I have nibbled fungus all over my garden and have been wondering who was doing the nibbling. I also have lots of squirrels, so I guess I now know who was nibbling!
