| | | unidentified fungi please help could anyone please id the following fungus. I have searched everywhere and despite being bright yellow cannot find an id. The fungi were growing on a decaying log and had a very waxy feel to the cap. It's not Yellow Waxcap! The gills were white. |

I have only been observing fungi since last autumn and have collected over 200 species. I am using Roger's Mushrooms website mainly to identify the species but am struggling at time. Could you recommend a good reference CD to buy which will help me along the way to identification.
Thanks again

Mal | there is also the "multimedia guide to fungi" by First Nature, at around £12 , not having seen it myself i cant say if its any good or not, maybe someone here will know,
at the other end of the scale the NHBS lists two dvd volumes "mycology"
"vol 1, the higher fungi" and "vol 2 lower fungi and fungus like organisms", but at around £125.00 each, a bit pricey, again ive not seen either of them, so cant comment on quality, or content.

Mal | Hallo Mal,
when you buy the "Funga Nordica" the price is appr. 85-90 Euro (I sell it for 83) and the CD Mycokey is included. This is a good price for such an important book and the Mycokey CD!
best regards,
Andreas

I would totally agree. I got mine through Ern Emmett the Mycena Key author and it is a good book even without the CD but with the CD it is excellent value.
