Agaricus sp?


Help with ID would be most welcome. Found near oak under a hawthorn hedge. Standing 12cm high and 10 cm across the cap. Smell of aniseed upon cutting.



No significant colour change when cut.







Slightly bulbous base.




Any ideas and comments most welcome. Thanks.

It looks like a young Prince - Agaricus Augustus to me.

Thanks John. There was a few more in the same spot, so i left them to let them develop properly. Will check back on saturday to see how they are doing!
