| | | Unidentified Fungus? This strange feature is growing on my apple tree. It is getting bigger every day. Today, it is about 2.5" long and 1" wide. I touched it and 'bruised' it, as can be seen on the top of it :-(
It has two droplets of something, forming from the bottom of it. Any help much appreciated - as always. Heather |

| | | Re: Unidentified Fungus? Looks like a slime mould Heather - they do change colour and form a skin, easily ripped/broken.
As always, wait for the experts though!
Cheers
Ken

I understand that L.sulphureus exudes yellowish juice, which might (if I'm right) explain the droplets.

a young Inonotus hispidus would be an option for me. They are very soft when young.
