As usual, once you are on you knees studying one specimen, others seem to appear. Except for FungiJohn, who is saving his knees for tomorrows Clumber foray. LOL
Any suggestions as to an ID will be appreciated.

Les | hi Les Hymenoscyphus fructigenus (though not well developed yet) also occurs on acorns but not on Fagus cupules - in the past a lot of records were made on the last-mentioned, but unless the host was mentioned they went down as fructigenus in the fungus floras . . . those on Fagus are either H. fagineus or H. rokebyensis
