Volvariella bombycina

Hi,

My computer has been broken for a week, so I've not been able to post. Had a really good day in the New Forest today including this superb Volvariella bombycina. Will try and post more over the weekend.

It didn't quite look real, almost like a lamp shade. I think it's beautiful! There is also another one below (in the 'egg' stage) starting to fruit.

Lovely photos Pete. I've not seen this fungi before, it certainly looks rather beautiful.

Hello Nick,

After my trip out to the woods on Friday I am beginning to think that this season will be great. It's very different to this time last year and I found some unusual Boletes - a couple of which I am having trouble to ID. I will post more this afternoon.
