| | | Marasmius rotula? (And Possibly Mycena Clavularis & Calocera viscosa
Found today, in a mixed woodland.
Fruitbodies growing directly from small fallen branches & twigs, some covered with moss.
Stipes about 35-40mm tall, caps about 5-8mm diameter.
Where found, these were in considerable numbers, but ony in a few isolated spots within the wood.
I'm thinking they are Marasmius rotula - Collared Parachute, but would appreciate confirmation/other.
Also found just this solitary pair of these, growing directly on twig.
Stipe height about 15mm, cap diameter about 3mm.
Considering possibly Mycena clavularis, but again would appreciate confirmation/other.
Also found this small group of what I'm thinking might be Calocera viscosa - Yellow Stagshorn, but I'm not too sure about this (It seems far too yellow, & wrong shape for Calocera cornea.
Any replies, as usual, much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike.

'yes' to Marasmius rotula - check the avatar
I would say the Mycena is M. adscendens
here is one of my photo's of this - note the tiny 'sugary' granules on the cap and the distinct cystidia on the stem:
(plus two-spored basidia - but you can't see those here )
cheers
Chris PS what was the substrate for the Calocera? coniferous I would suspect . . .

Chris | Thanks Chris, - Yes, now that you've pointed me in that direction, it does look more like M.adscendens.
Any thoughts on the Stagshorn?

| | | Re: Marasmius rotula? Hi Chris,
I'm can't be certain what the type of tree the Calocera was on.
It was quite well rotted, and completely covered in mosses.
There were a few European Larch in the general area, and an odd Scots Pine, but the predominant trees are Beech & Birch.
Might have to be a best guess as to what might be most likely
