Flower type fungi id help

Hi all

Wonder if any one can suggest an ID for this fungus, well I assume it is one. Found this morning in the lawn, within about 1 hour the petals had shrivelled up.

Its overall height was about 70 mm the flower head was about 30mm spread. In a lawn area.

Thanks for any suggestions.

A Coprinopsis, but I wouldn't like to speculate on the species though ... I bet it has disintegrated completely by now and you wouldn't know it had ever been there ...

By the way most that were formerly in Coprinus have very recently been moved into Coprinopsis, and it is likely that your books will not have them under the newer name, so check under Coprinus.

Many thanks for the help on an id. you are correct it had disintigrated within 3/4 of hour. I will keep an eye open for more, this was the only one I have ever noticed.
