Is it identifiable?
Thanks

fortunately it is, because the double ring is specific for this species: Agaricus bitorquis.
best regards,

Aaron | Hi Aaron,
I think I agree with Andreas but would just like to ask whether there were any Cypress trees nearby?

Andy | I don't think there were, but have no real idea what sort of trees were nearby |

Thanks

best regards,
Andreas | i found some similar ones a few days ago (see my post Agaricus arvensis ?) which i thought could be A.arvensis, as when trying to id them , i noticed that in my copy of phillips there were several Agaricus that were described as having double rings ? (none of the photos shows a clear picture of this feature though) one of which is A.arvensis,
(A.dulciulis/ A.arvensis/ A.pilatianus/ A.semotus as well as A. bitorquis)
are the rings on A. bitorquis significantly different to these other species, to be able to id them by this feature ?
