| | | Two More Plus a Mould? For ID Help Please Found these today in mixed woodland: -
No.1 Growing on a large dead branch. Cap size about 45mm, stipe height about 80mm.
Thought it might possibly be a Pluteus?, but can't seem to find anything in Phillips or Jordan that matches. (esp. with the veilar remnants).
No.2 Growing directly from well rotted leaf-litter soil. cap size about40mm, stipe height about 50mm.
Not sure if this is in fact a mould, but it was found growing on a well rotten decorticated trunk. Maybe about 2-3mm thick. The first photo shows an area about 50mm wide, the second shows an area about 30mm wide.
Any help with ID's will, as always, be much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike. |

| | | Re: Two More Plus a Mould? For ID Help Please The first looks oddly like an Agrocybe, but I don't know about that what with the substrate being wood. Agrocybe molesta is a very similar mushroom in appearance, including the velar remnants, but I just couldn't say to be honest
I think the second is a Tricholoma, but not sure of species. |

| | | Re: Two More Plus a Mould? For ID Help Please Thanks Nick.
It was definitely growing on the wood (Well it didn't fall off when I rolled the branch over to get the gill shot ).
EDIT - Just checked details for Agrocybe molesta, but that should have a ring. This "whateveritis" didn't.
Regards,
Mike.
