| | | Todays Unidentified and Doubts! Hey everybody, have been collecting today. Discovered a beech wood nearby with a few acres of pine forest! Was like heaven but the overpowering stench of the 36 stinkhorns i counted knocked me back! Nevertheless, i carried on and discovered some lovely specimens. The photos below are just a handful of the unidentified i found.
I found this strange mushroom in the beech forest, by far the thickest stipe i have seen to this day.
Any ideas?
Next, there are a few of these button type mushrooms nearby. Not quite sure what type though. Thats what the experts are for huh?!
Pretty sure this is a deathcap but have never seen one this dark before. It is a shame someone had already uprooted it but at least it was in one piece. Am i correct. Is this amanita phalloides?
And finally, Is this a panther cap or a blusher? Found hidden at the bottom of a big beech tree.
Would be very grateful for any comments or thoughts. Thank you very much. Sorry to bombard you with all of these. I guess i need to get better at I'ds! Cheers again

Can't help you with the mushrooms, I find these a bit of a nightmare to ID especially when they are in their adolescent stages. Saying that in maturity they can be tricky unless they bruise yellow or smell of aniseed.
As for the last two they have strong possibilities of being Amanita phalloides and Amanita pantherina.

| | | Re: Todays Unidentified and Doubts! Your first 4 piccys are Agaricus species of some sort. the third reminds me of A. silvicola but I'm not too sure. Talking about Stinkhorns, I've found that sometimes you can smell them, but you cant find them! I don't know if anyone has experienced that. In the 'egg' stage they are edible and I have tried it myself, tasting something like Radishes - something I'm not too keen on.
