| | | Scutellinia with long "Eyelashes" Found these today, growing amongst scattered horse dung/straw.
The "eyelashes" seem unusually long, in comparison with previous Scutellinia finds.
I accept that it is usual practice to name these (in the absence of microscopy) as Scutellinia scutellata, but was wondering if there is a more likely species, given the substrate, and the extra long "eyelashes" here?
Regards
Mike.

On a positive note ( ) I am always happy to look at material of this and other disco genera - just PM me (I suspect that you may have Scutellinia subhirtella there - but I could well be wrong!)
cheers
Chris

Unfortunately I didn't collect any, but if I get chance to go back to the site in the near future, I will definitely do so. (I'll PM you then).
Regards
Mike.
