| | | Polyporus ID Help please. Found today, growing on a fallen & well rotten trunk (Can't identify tree species).
There were several fully formed individual fruitbodies, (caps about 10cm across), all withing a space of about 60cm, along with some just emerging (as last photo).
Could it be Polyporus varius? - (I note that the stipes have a black base, but this is distinctly unlike any P.leptocephalus i've ever come across, so I'm thinking it's not that).
