| | | Re: small grassland mush A Panaeolus species or Panaeolina, but .... (add usual refrain here!) They are the only things I'm finding on grassland at the moment ... well almost, Stropharia semiglobata is also around.

my money would be on foenisecii and one glance at the spores would confirm it . . . . but otherwise -

| | | Re: small grassland mush I found Panaeolina foenisecii in my lawn today. Pristine condition until I trod on it by mistake and did a premature gill squash ... it was just still possible to check it out microscopically, luckily I hadn't run the lawnmower over it too ...

Melanie | lawnmowers are for wimps, Melanie! strimmers provide the real challenge!
Russulas? stomp on 'em all - God'll sort them out!

You are right, it would be a real challenge to try to create this nice Panaeolina foenisecii, Bellis perennis and Primula veris grassland habitat with an ear-piercing, whining, nylon cord whirling machine rather than with the purring heavy duty metal blade spinning machine that I use ....
And if you are wondering where the daisies are, they've just had their heads chopped off ....
