Help whats this my daugter has eaten one and on way to hospital.

Hospital said its a magic mushroom and wont do her any harm . any thoughts. she only came out of hospotal last night after 6 days for something else i think im going to go insane ;<

PS While you are waiting you could get a spore print (just leave the cap gill side down on a white sheet of plain paper), take some measurements, and describe where it was, whether it was in groups, what it smells like, and if the flesh turns any particular colour. Some of this might help ID.

it's difficult to say just from this picture - it's definitely not Liberty Cap but could possibly be another Psilocybe species

was it found in the wild? what were the circumstances / symptoms?

I wouldn't worry too much - this does not look like any of the usual suspects for serious mushroom poisoning

It dosent smell of anything and it was in my lawn. no big trees near. maybe in groups of 2/3 spead out 30 cm apart.

not ill or anything yet just nhs told us to take her stright to a&e

these brown jobbies really need microscopic examination . . . hopefully our German WABman Andreas will be in touch - he's your man for these kind of things; I genuinely wouldn't worry . . . at worst a tummy ache (possibly with vomiting which would actually speed recovery) if only one or two eaten any possible psychotropic effects would be slight (and temporary)

if you took some of the fungi with you to the hospital then their lab people would be able to check it out - people like Roy Watling have provided medics with keys for just such a purpose

they're not going to take any risks - of course they said "come to the hospital" - probably the worst effect of all this for your daughter is being caused by all the fuss and anxiety

My thoughts too! Hope she is doing okay too and wouldn't worry yourself over liberty caps too much you need to digest quite a few of these very unpleasant tasting mushrooms to start hallucinating!
