| | | Re: please help identify this fungus Thanks Nick, had a look at pic of Cellar Cup, but confident its not it...resembles the Piziza Succosa more, though not sure that's it either...I'd describe its shape as more "frisbee" like than "cup" shaped...with the blowhole giving it a "volcano" appearance...the "V" shaped 1 was part of same colony, though different in shape and lighter in colour |

Nick is spot on with the WAB cerea being atypical; habitat seems right for cerea - a friend of mine had it growing in her car , but absolute ID's to species usually require microscopic examination I'm afraid - first thing the Peziza keys ask you is whether the spores are smooth or ornamented - so you can only get so far with looking at pictures
I wouldn't place too much attention to the general shape - that can vary considerably in this group according to growing conditions Peziza succosa would bleed yellow where damaged if it were that (see WAB pic which is mine http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/peziza-succosa, I included an inset with the juice on white paper); but it is really a species of stony or gravelly soil in woodland
cheers
Chris
