Unsure what this is ?

Hi,found this tonight ,stuck on the side of a large oak tree, any ideas please , im not even sure if its a fungi

It does look fungal

To be honest, there's not really enough information to make a diagnosis in my opinion. Others might feel confident in suggesting something though.

Thanks anyway nickcantle. I was,nt much to look at to be honest , theres very little else to it ,i dont think it was quite big though,probably 12 inch across or close to it

I reckon it's an old Ganoderma at that size
