identify fungus in soil

Can anyone offer an ID for this fungus?

It's growing in the soil round the broad beans on my allotment. The bed has a mixture of well rotted manure and clay soil in it......I'm trying to find out what the fungus is, and if it will harm my vegetables!

Hi mate,

Methinks that this is a Peziza. Is there Cow manure present? If so, P. bovina is possible. Also have a look at Peziza vesiculosa.

I wouldn't care to identify this to species from what I can see . . . but perhaps most importantly for you, this fungus won't pose any problems for your crop - it's a decomposer
