| | | Fungi? Hi
At Thursley Common I came across this fungi growing out of water, I know very little about Fungus and believe this to be common but I was surprised to see it growing out of water.

Roy | Hi Roy
It's the Bog Beacon - Mitrula paludosa. Quite common in ditches and boggy areas this time of year.

It's me, the pain in the bum, pointing out that you found these fungi or this fungus.
Sorry !
Alan
PS. Does anybody know how to get the water in pics like this to look like water. All mine look as if the fungus is floating on oil. Long exposure & tripod perhaps?

Long exposure & tripod perhaps? | I am no expert photographer, but a polarising filter will cut down on the reflections and perhaps look more lifelike. |
