| | | Slime-mould Beauty the Myxo's are saddled with a very unattractive vernacular name; many naturalists are probably put off by it (though others, perversely, might be drawn to them  )
seen at the weekend while examining dead stems-bases of Epilobium hirsutum (Hairy Willow-herb) - several had colonies of Comatricha nigra, these being the cutest - looking rather like a balloon stall . . .
