| | | 3 Fungi for ID please Getting a bit puzzled trying to ID these three.
Found this first fungus on a fallen mossy log in an open area at Bolam Lake Country Park, Northumerland. I think it was oak. I was wondering if it is Exidia glandulosa - but don't really think it is.
This one was on a fallen log in woodland at Chillingham, Northumberland. Is is Bulgaria inquinans?
The last one was on a roadside somewhere in Cumbria. It was quite an high spot and was amongst rough grass adjacent a conifer plantation. It could well be growing from a piece of wood, but I couldn't see it.
Thanks for any help

I think 1 is Kretzschmaria deusta ( Ustulina deusta in older books; it is most common on beech 2 looks like it is Exidia glandulosa 3 could be Gloeophyllum sepiarium, but brackets are not my strongest suit
cheers
Chris

| | | Re: 3 Fungi for ID please Thanks Chris,
I've never even heard of Kretzschmaria deusta & Gloeophyllum sepiarium so don't feel so bad for not being able to ID them.
The Gloeophyllum sepiarium looks like it could well be a match | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
