| | | coprinus sp? could this be Coprinus lagopus ??, i have found these before but usually in groups on piles of woodchips or other debris,
it was found today on a grassy footpath in a conifer plantation , possibly on buried wood , a solitary specimen about 2 or 3inch tall and about half an inch across, i tried getting a pic of the gills, but as i only had a phone camera it did not come out at all well, (being a solitary specimen i left it in situ)

yes a "Coprinus" - probably a Coprinopsis, but I think, in all honesty, that's as far as you can take it
cheers
Chris

Chris | thanks for that Chris, i thought that might be the case, lagopus would seem the most likely candidate, given the habitat and time of year, but its another one in the "probably" list then.
