Found today, growing on a section of felled & rotting tree trunk.
The habitat suggests Coprinus micaceus but these don't look like any of the C.micaceus I've been finding recently.
I was wondering if they might be Common Inkcap ( C.atramentarius), as that is also associated with rotting wood, albeit usually buried wood.
Size of largest cap - about 50mm diameter.
The underside shot was best I could get without burning out the photo too much. - The gills can be seen, but are better viewed at largest image size.

Definitely not C atramentarius I would think they are more likely to be C. domesticus

I think you have it spot on.
I've not come across C.domesticus before, (or C.atramentarius for that matter  ), but I've just googled for C.domesticus images, and some of them do look remarkably like what I found.
