Log-growing Mushroom ID

Can I get an ID on these, log-growing mushrooms found today on Clandon Downs?

Hello,

these are jelly ear (Auricularia auriculae-judae).
Their best time seems to be over, they are quite old and also a little dried up already.

Thanks, my wife smelled them and said she'd had them in Indonesia (where she comes from). They seem quite fresh and moist.

Easily rehydrated in warm water though!

One of the most prolific of all cultivated 'wild' fungi. Huge in asia! Not so popular here(us europeans/Brits dont rate the gelatinous tetures as much)....more fool us!, I love em though. made a mushroom sauce of st georges and Jews/jelly ear today. twas great! Cook them up!!!
