these are jelly ear (Auricularia auriculae-judae).
Their best time seems to be over, they are quite old and also a little dried up already.

Andreas | Thanks, my wife smelled them and said she'd had them in Indonesia (where she comes from). They seem quite fresh and moist. |

Not so popular here(us europeans/Brits dont rate the gelatinous tetures as much)....more fool us!, I love em though. made a mushroom sauce of st georges and Jews/jelly ear today. twas great!
