Peziza?

One found last September from my archive. As can be seen growing on a bonfire site, few in numbers and approximately 2cm in diameter. Assuming to be a Peziza Sp. but could be wrong, any suggestions on possible ID welcome.

yes almost certainly a Peziza. . . there are half a dozen or so which occur on firesites and unfortunately the first thing you need to know to take it to species level is whether the spores are ornamented or smooth

colour and general macro-appearance are not always reliable characters; P. echinospora is perhaps the most likely here, but is only a suggestion (unless you kept some material? a small piece would do . . . )

Thanks Chris for the confirmation. P.echinospora appears to be fairly common and the most likely in this instance as you suggest. In the absence of a spore check will be content to stick with Peziza Sp.
